This is our 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon with a customized label. Choosing to buy our wine with this label will ensure that 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Water to Thrive.
Water to Thrive transforms lives in rural Africa by working with local partners and supporters to bring the blessing of clean, safe water to communities in need. Water to Thrive has funded over 1,200 water projects in Ethiopia, Uganda, Sierra Leone and Tanzania, serving over 600,000 people.
In sub-Saharan Africa, 88 percent of those without basic water access live in rural areas. That is why we work with local partner organizations to bring sustainable, clean water to the most rural communities in East Africa. Every beneficiary community receives comprehensive water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) training so they know how to prevent disease and contamination of their new water source. Each community also elects a WASH committee to be primarily responsible for the maintenance of the well. This locally-elected WASH committee is always made up of at least 50 percent women to ensure that women are included in making decisions about the well. Our partners help communities maintain a maintenance fund for future repairs and establish hours of operation to prevent damage to the well from overuse. Project Manager, Gashaw, lives in Ethiopia, but conducts regular site visits to every site and sends us progress reports throughout and after well construction. At Water to Thrive, we make a 100 Percent Promise to our donors that any donation made for clean water will go entirely towards water projects. All of our administrative and operating expenses are covered by donors who give strictly for operations.
